A new book 'Wings over Sakishima'
By Fredio Samples

Sometimes a dream can inspire an action. Such is the case with the book 'Wings over Sakishima' by Fredio Samples.

During the author's tour of duty in radar operations on the small island of Miyakojima in the early sixties he experienced a frightening dream of WWII era Japanese soldiers attacking his housing (BAQ).

Shaken, the dream was so vivid that he never forgot it.

Fifty plus years later, the dream, his passion for history and the respect he has for the men and women of 'The Greatest Generation' has led him to write "Wings over Sakishima", the little known story of combat in the area of Sakishima Gunto in the Ryukyu Archepelago (Okinawa) and what was accomplished there in 1945.

Fly with the US AAF airmen and sail with the US seamen as they carried out their missions in this real-life drama of World War II.

Facinating and meticulously researched, you will find that this is a story that needed to be told.

Enjoy!
