The '68 photo is from a Naha AB
information pamphlet. The 2002 is one I took last May.
You can just make out the tops of some of the Naha AB buildings
(barracks) in the far background of the 2000 photo. They are very clear
in the 68 photos.
The modern NAB maingate is no longer visible from this place. It is
further down the road on the right by the old Chapel building. As can
be seen, our old 2 lane "Command Road" is now a 4 lane highway Number
330 going to Itoman and points south. The whole area to the left, where
the housing areas were, is built up (civilian) like you see all the way
past the Air Base. The area to the right, that was housing and golf
course, is built up (civilian) the same all the way down to the
BX/Theater/Chapel area, which is where todays Air Base actually begins.
